Economics Sample Lessons
I take a very practical approach to teaching economics. I teach economic fundamentals but bring in real life examples to keep students motivated and give them the tools they need to make good economic decisions in their own life. I like to use "hands-on" learning when teaching economics and guide students to understanding through experience and former knowledge.

^^^^ This project was presented at Michigan State Universities Intern Conference in December of 2011. I proposed using student knowledge and technology as a way of motivating students to be creative and discover a better way of assessment. This project was a success as it is a way of students applying their knowledge to create curriculum climbing further up "Bloom's Taxonomy" and focussing on the big picture in this authentic assessment. Technology is becoming a larger part of education and as educators we must use this as a tool to benefit our students.

Entrepreneurship Lesson
EntrepreneurshipTo show how Entrepreneurship impacts our Economy, I showed an Episode of ABC's "Shark Tank". After we had discussed the 4 Factors of Production and taken notes about each I decided to show a real-life application of how entrepreneurs must take a risk combining the other 3 factors of production with their main goal to MAKE A PROFIT! This lesson helped students see a practical example of economics.
